Is the wizard of Oz secular or cosmic humanist?

The Wizard of Oz in my perspective is secular humanist. Why I believe that to be true is that, they find what there looking for with in them selves. They don't have to go to the land of Oz to find what there looking for. The only thing Dorothy neededs to do is to tap her heels and she would be back home. The tin man already had a heart, and the scare crow already had a brain. The lion just needed to find the courage within himself. All they needed to do is to look in themselves. The OZ thought himself to be a god so he made himself a god. Until Dororthy figures out who he really is.
Bascially, there is no god in the movie the only god was themselves.

10-14-08 home work

When searching for a worldview in the text you need to figure out who the speaker is. When you figure out the speaker you need to find the tone of the piece and the outstanding statements that can be morally challenging. You then need to figure out the characters and what they represent in the story. The worldview of the Wizard of OZ is cosmic humanist. When you look at the characters you can tell. Cosmic humanist believe that each person decides what is right for themselves.
